This was a spur of the moment creation that is incredibly simple and easy to make and completely vegan. I used the Lidl ‘Plant Menu, Ultimate No Beef Burger’ which I believe has a small amount of Barley in it but is otherwise free from anything troublesome in the ingredients.
The spices I use are delicious with most things so you can have it with whatever you want on the side. I chose a veggie burger because it’s just so easy. Rice would go well with this if you want an alternative.
This recipe feeds 2 people, it’s easy to double it for more.

Saute chilli veg
Ingredients
- Teaspoon cooking oil
- 1 brown onion
- 1/4 cup broccoli
- 1/4 cup cauliflower
- 1/4 cup peas and sweetcorn
- 2 carrots
- 1/4 cup of water
- Large teaspoon Garlic granules or one clove of garlic
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 large teaspoon Chilli flakes
- Pinch of salt (add more to taste at the end if you like)
- 1 small teaspoon gravy granules
- Veggie burger
Method
- Pop your veggie burger in the oven.
- Splash the cooking oil in a frying or saute pan and add the onion and spices.
- Cook the onion until translucent.
- Add vegetables and water, and sprinkle in the gravy granules.
- Cook until veg is soft enough to pierce with a fork, and the water has reduced down to a light sauce.
- Serve with burger.
I hope you enjoy both making and eating this.
