Vegan cheese has really taken off in the last few years. Now even shops like Lidl and Aldi do their own version of coconut based alternative. I’ve found all of them good for your basic cooking needs, all the way through to crackers and cheese. Although none quite taste like real cheese… yet!
This isn’t a comprehensive by any means, but I think I’ve included most of the brands you’ll find in your local supermarket and hopefully you can continue experimenting on your own. It’s a wonderful excuse to eat toasties.
It is definitely worth you trying the cheeses for yourself though, as my opinion is just one opinion. You might find that you have your own preferences. But this should give you a good starting point for Vegan cheese!
Here is my rundown of the cheeses I’m most familiar with, these are all soya and dairy free.

Violife (my favorite so far…)
This cheese is good for melting, whether its on pasta, in a toasty, or on pizza. some people aren’t keen on the texture when vegan cheese is melted but I love the Violife. Its not the cheapest cheese available with the price of a block being more than I usually like to pay, But as a treat I love it and at Christmas this year they did a load of different flavors including smoked (delicious) crumbly Greek (odd but addictive) and wensleydale with cranberry. (They honestly haven’t nailed this one yet, it was a bit week. I hope they get it right next year)
They have so many different products available, with sliced, grated, and mature.
One last mark in their favor is their spreadable cream cheese which is heaven in a tub.

Tesco, Sainsburys, and Morrisons etc.
These cheeses are pretty similar, I probably couldn’t tell the difference between them. They all come in at about £2ish and they are all nice on pasta and in sandwiches. But they’re not as nice as some of the other brands. I would happily get any of them in my weekly shop and use it all up though because its still good cheese. These brands also do some really good flavors and styles. These cheeses are really good and worth trying but if you want a really good cheese and are willing to pay a little more, a brand cheese is worth that extra money.

Asda Lidl and Aldi
These are hardly distinguishable from the Tesco’s etc. Brands. Except for the price, they are a little cheaper and I get these more often than any other kind for that reason. They also only come in one flavor so far.

Applewood Smoked Vegan
Really good in everything especially pizza. more expensive than some others but worth it in deliciousness.

Sheese
One of the longer running brands of vegan cheese, its also more likely to contain gluten depending on the flavor. not my favorite brand but a good one none the less. It has a huge variety of flavours and forms. I recommend giving it a try. It has the most delightful creamy texture.
