This is an easy side to any meal, it goes well with Fish, veggie burgers, pasta and more. It’s also a good alternative to gravy or tomato based sauces.
You can also make a carbonara style pasta sauce with it, just add basil and pancetta or meat alternative bacon bits.
Ingredients
- 1 small brown onion
- 1 splash cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
- Pepper to taste
- Unsweetened Oat Milk or nondairy milk
- Gf Flour or cornflour
- 1 large carrot chopped into moderate pieces
- 1/2 cup of broccoli and cauliflower
- 1/4 cup peas
Method
- Begin with chopping your onion and popping it in a frying pan with the oil and spices
- Cook until translucent.
- Add your veggies and cook them through until they are beginning to go soft.
- Add your milk, enough to cover your veg, and add in a handful of flour, mix.
- After 3-4 mins if the sauce isn’t the thickness of a light sauce add another small handful of flour.
- Stir it through until it thickens, then add your salt and pepper to taste, and serve.
